How Our Ultrasound Imaging Work

Ultrasound imaging is a new and exciting musculoskeletal tool that is revolutionizing the orthopedic health care world. A diagnostic ultrasound machine sends sound waves into the body, the sound waves then reflect off the body in order to produce an image. Normal functioning body tissue will provide echoes from the sound waves in a typical fashion. Abnormal tissue will display a different image. In this case, your doctor of physical therapy can use this imaging to discover dysfunction and pathology that can be missed in a routine physical exam.

ultrasound Imaging BENEFITS

An effective and efficient alternative to MRI, ultrasound imaging provides an effective means of detecting many issues in the musculoskeletal system.

  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Achilles tendon tears
  • Ligament sprains
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Bone spurs
  • and more!
MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL MAKE YOU WAIT FOR AN MRI,
BUT STAATS PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN PROVIDE AN IMAGE SAME DAY!

Dr. Staats has received advanced accreditation in the use of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound Imaging. This allows the physical therapists at Staats Physical Therapy to devise a more appropriate treatment plan and determine if there is a need for an outside referral.
